A turquoise oasis on Huger Street

With a plant bedecked interior, blue facade, and rows of CBD product lining the shelves, Huriyali oozes chill. The menu is fairly extensive as far as plant-based Charleston eateries go, with sandwiches, salads, nachos, smoothie bowls, breakfast plates, plus smoothies, juices, and wellness shots on the liquid side of things.
#Hangover Helper
Prior to becoming vegan, smoothie bowls would not have ranked high in my list of hangover meals. But then, I'd also never had one.
Stepping into Huriyali feels as if you've entered an alt-Charleston, where Meatless Monday is standard and everyone finds time to meditate. To my hungover self, it felt like a sun-dappled breath of fresh air. People are sitting at tables discussing yoga schedules. Supplements and superfoods I've never heard of sit the shelves. A cheerful young man that looks like he's just walked off of a beach is asking what I'd like. I'd like a smoothie bowl. Because it seems like the right time and place, and because something cold sounds great to my sluggish brain.
The smoothie bowl is everything I need it to be and more. Cacao nibs, pepitas, coconut, bananas, blueberries, strawberry, and chia seeds all piled atop a dragonfruit & peanut butter smoothie blend. I feel better already.

When to visit: Post Big Night Out, or for a fresh and healthy breakfast/lunch when you're in need of a little chill time.
